Operation Blue Wolf
In every mission, there are Rules of Engagement. A list of do's and don'ts when faced with a threat. Their unit knew them well, had been briefed to make sure and the assignment was as it always was: only to scout the area and locate the threat. When that was done the next unit would be deployed to do their job.
They were the best team for the job and everyone knew it. They worked well together and Ygritte considered each her Brother, despite not getting along so well with her captain when they were all off-duty. In her opinion, Robb Stark was uptight, too serious and he didn't seem to like her much either, for whatever reason. But she respected him and was bound to the men in her unit - her Brothers - who became the family she never really knew.
It was raining hard when the Apache lowered them to their drop point. From there they began and after a few hours, the downpour had prevented the window to do a proper surveillance in order to pinpoint the threat; a man they renamed as 'Ramsay' for the sake of not blowing their cover if their secure comms signal failed and a SAT call had to be resorted to. Little did they know, however, that their cover was already blown and the army behind their threat was onto them no sooner than the started the mission.
Ygritte stepped lightly, hardly able to see two feet in front of her due to the constant flow of water that ran down her face. In front of her was Edd, their point man. To her right, Robb and beyond him and back some was Podrick, leaving Davos in the less than 50 fifty feet behind them all.
But in a matter of moments, they came under attack and Ygritte trained her sights on several threats while waiting for the barking order from their captain.

no subject
He had no particular dislike for any of his men. Some were loud, others full of dirty jokes at the wrong moments, some could be too harsh or too violent. But they were his men. He trusted them and he trusted them with this mission as well.
The rain was a bit of a disadvantage and Robb had instructed their men to be careful. Of course, the rain could wash away their tracks, but also those of the enemy. It could lessen their sounds, but also those coming from the enemy. It does not make him sure of anything and he holds his gun just a little bit tighter. Right before the attack he gestures at the two men behind them should move faster.
But then the first shots came and Robb mutters a curse underneath his breath. "Stay close!" he yells, stepping back until his back bumps with that of the only woman out of their group. "Davos! Call for reinforcements!" Robb can see the older man nod and duck away. They need to get off the path and seek shelter as soon as possible. He rather does not want to see any of his men go at this stage.
"Shoot at anything that moves," he hisses at her, the words obviously a command. "I will try to cover you. Lets aim for the woods beneath."
